Friday Fences: Entangled

CIMG7736-001

Nature has a fascinating way of not caring much about human-made obstacles sometimes…  Like when a tree decides that “hey, what do I care about fences!”

  3. Good grief!!! Now that is a real find! We have something like this with a limb grown around a phone line. I hope you are feeling better...

  4. Good for trees! We shouldn't get in their way. Great catch!

  5. It is always interesting to see how trees will just grow around obstacles.

  6. That's crazy! But I have the same question: where is the middle? Great fence pic! Have a wonderful weekend!

  7. I'm wondering too, what happened to the middle.

  8. To those of you who asked what happened to the middle: I swear I had nothing to do with it! :) My guess is they took down what they could of this tree, but left the bits that were seriously intertwined with the fence - no way to remove those without replacing that whole section of the fence.

  9. Last night on my way home from an evening out with friends, I met a hedgehog who sat on the pavement. I don't think he was scared of me, but after a while, he decided to move into the adjacent garden through the bottom of the fence. When I realized he was a bit stuck, I bent some of the wires apart to help him through, and waited until he disappeared in a rustle of leaves under a bush.

  10. I've actually had to deal with this before when I had chain link fencing. You're right, nature can be very determined to settle in--sometimes where it's not welcome! :-)
