There’s no special point to this blog post, I was just going through some recent pictures and got into experimental mood… Picasa is my standard editing tool used for blogging because it’s quick and easy. Usually it’s the mediocre or even bad photos that may benefit from going a bit overboard with the experiments.
Actually in this case I quite like the inverted one:
Quite a fascinating selection of options. I like the straight-out-of-the-camera or the auto-contrast ones best though.
ReplyDeleteVery nice winter reflections, nice and frosty.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

You did enjoy yourself by playing with your picture enhancing toolbox... I had no idea that they could be so much choice... I like the inverted colors : it gives a creepy vib to the picture.
ReplyDeleteInteresting...It's good to see what these filters do.
ReplyDeleteReminds me it's a long time since I have used Michael Ortons technique. It's only usually effective on woodland shots.
An interesting experiment! There used to be a time when I found photography (self portraits, more than anything else) were a creative outlet for me during a particular difficult time in my life. These pictures are not suitable for my blog, but I loved to experiment with them (all in irfanview) and found that the effects sometimes really "spoke".
ReplyDeleteI too used irfanview (and still do) and, like you, the only ones I have really played with were portraits. Some of the ones of Richard were quite effective.
DeleteTres joli ;o)
ReplyDeleteSo cool, I have planned to start doing this once in awhile. Now let's see, first I need to go back and look slower...O.K. I have my favorites! HDR, Lomo, Boost, Inverted.
ReplyDeletea lovely series...I'm glad you had fun playing with the editing....I love doing that too.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Picassa play fun! I love it...you picked a great photo to play with and this is a great idea for a post. (I might steal it someday ;>)) (the idea, not your pictures of course.
ReplyDeleteIs that goldenrod? So pretty with the frost. I also love the blurred reflection of the red and green buildings in the river.
ReplyDeleteWow, your weather widget says it's -3 degrees where you are, and yet you can still create beautiful photos of the snow. I really don't use Picasa much, maybe I should play around with it some more. I enjoyed your stunning photos.
