FMTSO: Favourite Corner

Yesterday offered perfect weather for a Folk Music/ Dance/ Arts & Crafts festival in our Museum Park – with something going on in every nook and cranny, so that it was really hard to choose a favourite corner…

A nyckelharpa ("keyed fiddle", or literally "key harp") is a traditional Swedish musical string instrument with keys.

It looks a grand day out.

Yes Sandra, there were groups of musicians playing in every bush or corner - walking around the park was like "live zapping" (walking in and out from one tune to another).

It was, Adrian. Possibly it was also the Grand Finale of summer - we'll see!

What a fun time for everyone! I love such festivals, and I love traditions being kept alive (as long as they are "good" traditions and not something like stoning people or bull-fighting etc.).

What a wonderful day out. I was fascinated by the nyckelharpa. The chap doing the woodturning in that original way needs a lot of skill. I did some woodturning once upon a time and it was hard enough on an ordinary lathe. I see, too, that tattoos on ladies' legs has reached Sweden too.
