Yesterday was grey and wet, and I did not get out at all. While I was busy with doing laundry, Barbie and Skipper were allowed to decorate their Christmas tree at last...
This is where they live (a book shelf next to my TV). A new neighbour also moved in upstairs from them yesterday. Or rather, a regular seasonal guest... ;-)
Other corners of my flat were also invaded by gnomes yesterday:
This family occupies their usual space on a picture shelf above my sofa. (Knitted by my mum, once upon a time. She made lots of similar dolls for annual Christmas markets held by the local history society in the village where my parents lived in their senior years. But these were part of her own Christmas decorations at home.)
1,2,3,4,5 little ones have also taken their usual places on the corner shelf in my kitchen. (The other items sit there all year round.)
Your little people who populate your home are always charming...and seasonably involved! No way I'd guess at the numbers of gnomes!
ReplyDeletemy favorite is that little log manger. when I saw the title I thought I had clicked on Ginny's blog. ha ha. she does love her gnomes, just like you do... I like the ones holding hands dancing
DeleteSandra, there was a time in the past when I was very anti-gnomes, but they kept arriving and I gave up... I only let them invade my flat for a few weeks around Christmas though. ;-)
DeleteYour Mom was amazing! And she even made the little gnome holding a baby one! I love their log cabin. And I am excited to see what or who are in the box!! I love the star with the robin nesting in it!
ReplyDeleteThe invasion of gnomes around your flat adds a whimsical touch to your holiday decor. Your mum's knitted dolls, with their history and personal significance, must bring back warm memories every time you see them. It's charming how each gnome has its designated spot, from the picture shelf above your sofa to the corner shelf in your kitchen and even the top of your cooker hood.
