i am so glad you posted this, I love the first two photos, have never seen one like this and did not know there were conifers that lose their needles. its beautiful and i can see why it would not be good for a tree. love learning from yoou
I could see where having a Larch as a Christmas tree would pose a big problem. - Although we've had a few fir trees that looked a bit like that after a week or so. Cut too soon.

Larch trees turn such a beautiful gold before they drop their needles.
Even when it fades, it looks gorgeous! Lovely shots.
I don't remember ever seeing a larch before...what a lovely tree.
