Eye to Eye with a Butterfly

Lots of butterflies in my Butterfly Park today… Here’s a video of a Peacock butterfly, Inachis Io. (Inachus was a river god in Greek mythology, and Io his daughter, “born from his mouth” – a naiad, the nymph of a spring.)

The background sounds come from a railway crossing nearby.

This is a GREAT video. And I see that loud noises don't scare butterflies!

gorgeous and they don't usually sit in one place like that. love the sound of the train crossing, so sweet, your new camera takes great video. my coopix does but it is so small to view it, not big like yours.

Very nice. I like those scary "eyes" on its wings

Superb movie of a superb insect, Monica. I was mesmerised by the combination of the butterfly and the bell clanging.
