Gosh, it does look like a dungeon! Wonder what they keep in there? Perhaps Hannibal Lector, mad wives, trolls, and assorted creatures of the night.

On a previous trip to Europe with my children I collected doors and windows. This is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteWords are wonderful but I can't think of an X word that would convey so strong an image. That door is a real thing of beauty.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful x photos! I read your story about the narrow escape! In former days there were no elevators and people just invented all kind of ways to get the heavy loads of laundry downstairs. In one of the mansions there was a kind of chute which was used to convey the dirty laundry down. How they took the wet clothes upstairs I don't know how ever.
