ABC Wednesday: X

Didn’t feel like diving into the dictionary today so I’m taking the visual perspective with the letter X. This is an old cellar door in our open air museum park; photos from back in the summer.

  5. Gosh, it does look like a dungeon! Wonder what they keep in there? Perhaps Hannibal Lector, mad wives, trolls, and assorted creatures of the night.

  6. Sandra, behind the door is the cellar of an old inn which also serves as café in the museum park now.

Graham, I have a special "like" for doors and windows too ;)

  7. On a previous trip to Europe with my children I collected doors and windows. This is a beauty!

  8. Words are wonderful but I can't think of an X word that would convey so strong an image. That door is a real thing of beauty.

  12. Beautiful x photos! I read your story about the narrow escape! In former days there were no elevators and people just invented all kind of ways to get the heavy loads of laundry downstairs. In one of the mansions there was a kind of chute which was used to convey the dirty laundry down. How they took the wet clothes upstairs I don't know how ever.
Anyway I wish you a very happy new year without any problems in the lift. Take care!
